One does not necessarily love what is being produced, but must apply discipline to accept it until the piece is finished. A good piece of art does not have a limited absolute meaning. In my abstracts I’m striving for a feeling, a vastness; something beyond words.

I care very much about what I am doing and must have a vision of what it will look like in the end. It may appear to be random or accidental but it must be just so, and it must reveal something about the sheer joy of being alive.

Lately, my acrylics, especially the portraits, have taken on a quirky, unevenness; to be somewhat unsettling and intriguing; to capture ourselves and the world with honesty and laughter and a feeling that we are all in this together.
